My bachelors of fine arts project. I chose a topic of play based learning and found that children are being denied free play within the educational system. Throughout my research, I found that play is the best way for children to learn, and they are being stripped of that right as they progress through school. I found that sixth grade is about the time that children stop playing, therefore I decided to make a line of educational games. I made one for english, one for science, and one for history. My english game teaches vocabulary, antonyms, and synonyms. My history game teaches about the civil war, and my science game (with the help of Laura Andros, an illustrator) teaches about the biomes from around the world. I hope that as you read this book, you learn to enjoy my project as much, if not more than I did.
